Bob Bishop - R

Why are you running for office? I am running for re-election because I do NOT want to see all of the hard work we have put in as a council and administration to turn the ship around and start bringing in new investment and jobs to Logansport. In our first 3 years we have made a historic turn around in economic development and the creation of jobs. Before we took office, we were losing 300 jobs a year, we are now creating jobs. Quality Die moves from Flora to Logansport into the old Modine building. SG Preston building new corn oil to diesel plant that will employ over a 100 good paying jobs with an investment of $400 Million. Please understand that it has taken the entire 177 years of Logansport's history and ALL administrations COMBINED to create $350 Million in assessed value. Just the SG Preston plant alone is worth more than our current assessed value. As Chairman of the Council Parks Committee, I also am proud of the turnaround in the decay of our parks, including the new aquatics center at Tower Park. We have tackled the tuff issues that have not been addressed for decades. The power plant is another big issue that has been neglected for decades. We have not given up until we solved that problem and not only fixed it and retained the jobs, but we have improved it and instead of losing 30 jobs, we will be creating 70 MORE JOBS! Even though I do not have any family left in Logansport, I still feel I want to leave this city better than I found it. I will continue to do just that as long as I represent Ward One and the City of Logansport.
