Dave Morris - D

Why are you running for office? Because I care about people . . . all people. Nothing has been more difficult for me than watching the struggles of friends and neighbors I know try to make ends meet on a day to day basis. I watched as I delivered mail to the families of Logansport for 35 years while local opportunities for livable jobs diminished, and families losing their homes became the norm rather than the exception. I've seen the despair and hopelessness in the eyes of moms and dads, as they work so hard and still cannot make enough money to pay the bills, and provide the necessities for raising their children. Many times they would lose their home and then their family would split up from the pressure.

It would be naive to believe that I can instantly change these circumstances, but it is my desire to exert my efforts where I believe I can make the most difference. I believe it is time to elect a 1st Ward City councilman who truly understands the needs of our community, and will work with the residents and organizations in place to make decisions that are beneficial to all. I will be quick to listen and slow to speak when considering the future of Logansport and its well being. We must plan our future together. I am a lifelong resident of the 1st Ward and want nothing more than the best for my neighbors here in the 1st Ward and throughout the city of Logansport.
